What’s the perfect logo size for your website and all of your sales collateral?
Great question. Let's make two things clear:
- Your logo isn’t important, your message is.
- It’s not about you, it’s not about your company, it’s about the consumer and the problem you solve for them.
Have a look at these two websites, they do the same thing: small business bookkeeping.
The first one has a huge logo. They’re shouting their names, promoting their firm.
Then, in much smaller text, much lower down the page, we see that they have bookkeeping services.
This second website has a nice logo, but their focus is on solving a big problem for the consumer.
A big super logo is not a hack, it’s a tell.
Everyone wants to be seen, everyone wants to be appreciated. But when it comes to your business logo, don’t be tacky or self-serving.
Don’t shout “look at me!”
It’s not about people knowing who you are. It’s about you knowing what consumers need.
You must communicate the problem your consumers have even better than they can.
What does that problem feel like now?
What will their new reality look like once you get rid of their problem?
When consumers see your marketing materials, you want them to yell: “Yes! That’s me. That’s exactly what I’m going through. This is exactly what I need!”
As a business leader, ask yourself:
- Is my logo more important than our service, product or message?
- Is my logo more important than consumers' experience with my product, service or brand?
People’s attention spans have not gone down. Their standards have gone up. So, talk about the unique and awesome value you provide like no one else can.
Over time, everyone will associate the incredible value you provide with your brand.
And then you won’t need to yell to be heard…
Happy consumers will shout your name for you.
